Hollowfarm Smallholding was founded by husband and wife team, Lee and Carrie-Anne Mooney in 2016. Both had a vision of a more sustainable lifestyle with animal welfare and nature friendly farming at its core.
Between them both, Lee and Carrie-Anne have over 30 years working with animals. Whilst Carrie-Anne’s background started with small domestic animals, a variety of working dogs, reptiles and horses which later progressed to small scale farming.
Lee is a fully qualified Farrier with the Worshipful Company of Farriers and his CV in this industry covers a variety of elements including remedial and corrective shoeing. It was through this that Lee also started working as a rider under the craftsmanship of the The Devils Horsemen whilst fulfilling the role as farrier responsible for the care of the equine hooves whilst filming in Northern Ireland.
Lee’s work has lead him to be on productions like Game of Thrones, The Northman, Dungeons & Dragons and Tom Jones.
While both Lee & Carrie-Anne work with all the animals ensuring their welfare and care are at the highest standards and making sure they are socially and mentally ready to be on set, Carrie-Anne stays behind the scene’s when possible to rehearse with the animals ensuring a stress-free work environment.
